Italian Fashion Jewelry: Rajola
Rajola is today a consolidated
reality. The factory and the administration department
are in Torre del Greco. The sales department is in the
Tarì in Marcianise, while the branch office
for the northen area is in Milan. His world is that of
the stone jewellery. His strenght is in the variety of
the offer, in the quality of the product and in the assistance
to customers. It is a company with a rich history behind.
It started with the manufacture and commerce of coral,
ivory and shell, and in the future years it has started
using also different stones with wonderful colors. A rainbow
of splendid jewellery - gemstone jewelry, handcrafted gemstone
jewelry, that enchants and adorns women of all ages. The
search for an abundance of colours is, in fact, oriented
toward women; whether their dress be multiethnic or more
classic or sober, they will always be able to find a piece
of jewellery that fits perfectly and attracts glances…There
are two contrasting, but necessary sides to Rajola. One
is the cold rationality of numbers and of responding to
the demands of the market. The other is the creativity
of designing, the enthusiasm evoked by the search for new
shapes and cuts. Now,
as it was in the early days of the company, the final product
is in the hands of Rajola’s master artisans. Their
virtue lies in their experience and technique – skills
for which they have received recognition and credit from
Italy and other parts of the world. Rajola jewellery “must” distinguish
itself from other jewellery. Its plus lies in the grade
of the stones used – always top quality and always
checked by experts of the Gemological Institute of America.
And it also comes from their cut and colour combinations,
their exclusive designs and, finally, the captivating personalised
jewel case in which they are sold, accompanied by the Rajola
guarantee. |
Our history |
| About eighty years ago, an ambitious and tenacious
young man made a decision that is still upheld by his loved
ones today. He came from a family of men that, working
with coral, had captured and won over the world. They were
the fathers of technique and art, of sacrifice and skills
in commerce. This young man believed, however, that coral
was merely a starting point. And so he dedicated
himself to crafting unusual pieces of jewellery using materials
that were beginning to be in higher demand on the Italian
market, such as ivory, tortoise shell and mother of pearl.
In order to pursue his work with these materials, he had
to leave his family in Torre del Greco for months at a
time every year before the rainy season and cross the ocean
to reach the Fiji Islands. Eventually he moved there and
brought his family with him and, welcomed by the then King
of Suva, he opened the islands’ first jewellery store. A
few years later, family matters forced him to move back
to Torre del Greco, where after a short time he opened
a small laboratory for production of his small works of
art. The man’s name was Giuseppe Rajola, as
is the name of the current owner of the company in Torre
del Greco. Over the past eighty years (and four generations),
Rajola has continued to follow the tracks of its founder. |
